Diversity In Food Media began in mid-2020 when various Australian food journalists asked themselves: how can we encourage and support a more inclusive food media? How do we help people from under-represented backgrounds enter the industry and get published?

We have many initiatives planned – and so far, there's been the Diversity In Food Media Instagram account (profiling the diverse talent covering food in Australia) and the New Voices On Food book (both kickstarted by Lee Tran Lam, but with invaluable support from the aforementioned colleagues).
